Postponed: North Texas Advocacy Workshop

Dallas Friends Meeting
5828 Worth St.
When: Saturday, December 10, 1:00 PM (event is now over)
Your host says: Refreshments will be provided. This event is free and open to the public. Please contact Sarah Freeman-Woolpert at sarahfw@fcnl.org with any questions.

Join us for an Introduction to Advocacy Workshop with Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL). This event will train participants to use a range of advocacy skills to promote peace and justice in the policymaking process. Join us in-person to learn how you can become a more effective advocate to drive change in Congress. We will go in-depth on FCNL’s relationship-based style of lobbying, teach skills on storytelling, and share best practices on effective communication with Members of Congress. We will explore why the Advocacy Teams program is so effective, provide an overview of our 2022 campaign to end U.S. support for the war in Yemen, and take one collective action together. At the end, we will move forward with launching a grassroots Advocacy Team in North Texas. This Introduction to Advocacy Workshop features FCNL Advocacy Teams Manager Sarah Freeman-Woolpert. The workshop will run from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM Central Time. We ask that all attendees wear masks, and practice social distancing during the workshop. For more information, please reach out to Sarah at sarahfw@fcnl.org.
