The Quaker Welcome Center is sponsoring the event “Art Transforming Violence” to showcase the role of visual arts in addressing gun violence. Friend in Washington Welling Hall will present four recent sculptures (in metal, wood, and mixed media) and discuss how art engages both faith and advocacy from the perspective of a political scientist turned visual artist. Bettina Lanyi, Assistant Director of Partnerships for the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence will be hosting a Q&A with the artist during the event.
