Native American women and girls face a murder rate that’s 10 times the national average, and more than 4 in 5 Native American women have experienced violence. Savanna’s Act (S.1942/H.R.4485) will help law enforcement respond to and track cases of missing and murdered Native American women and girls. This bill is a crucial step forward to ending this epidemic of violence.

Please pass S.1942/H.R.4485, Savanna's Act this week. On some reservations, Native American women are murdered at a rate that's more than 10 times higher than the national average. This violence had led to an epidemic of missing Native American women, and it's time we put a stop to it.

Violence isn’t limited to just reservation or tribal lands. Native women experience violence in urban areas which is why Savanna’s Act requires better response and coordination between state, federal, tribal and local law enforcement. It requires an improved response to missing cases by facilitating coordination between all levels of law enforcement. By consulting with tribes on data collection, and improving the information collected for missing cases, Savanna's act seeks to close the information gap to help bring justice to Native women.

The Senate has already passed this bipartisan bill, and it is awaiting a House vote. The countless missing and murdered Indian women can no longer wait for justice. I urge you to support this important legislation and pass this bill this week!
